The Church of St. Trophime is the former cathedral of Arles, built between the 12th and 15th centuries on the site of a 5th-century basilica, with a Romanesque nave and a Gothic choir. Its west portal on the Place de la République, carved around 1180-1190, shows the Last Judgement; the church and its cloister are part of the UNESCO-listed monuments of Arles.

Montmajour Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery founded in 948 on a rocky hill north of Arles that was once an island in the marshes. The site spans graves cut into the rock, the 11th-century hermitage, the 12th-century church and crypt, the Romanesque cloister, the 14th-century Pons de l'Orme tower and the ruins of an 18th-century monastery.
