Sant Benet de Bages is a former Benedictine monastery founded around 950, whose church was consecrated in 972 and rebuilt in Romanesque style in the 12th century. The painter Ramon Casas's family later used it as a summer home, restored by Puig i Cadafalch. Since 2007 it has been the Món Sant Benet complex, with an audio-guided medieval route and the Casas rooms.
Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey founded in 1025 on the serrated mountain of Montserrat, about 48 km north-west of Barcelona, and largely rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries. Its basilica holds the image of the Virgin of Montserrat; a rack railway, a cable car and funiculars link the abbey with the valley and the upper slopes.
