    A single-span steel arch bridge over the Seine in Paris, built between 1896 and 1900 and named for Tsar Alexander III of Russia, who had signed the Franco-Russian Alliance in 1892. Its Beaux-Arts design by Joseph Cassien-Bernard and Gaston Cousin carries Art Nouveau lamps and four gilt-bronze statues of Fames at the approaches.

    A cemetery opened in 1804 on the order of Napoleon Bonaparte, laid out by architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart across 44 hectares of landscaped, tree-lined paths in eastern Paris. More than a million people are buried here, including Frédéric Chopin, Honoré de Balzac, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison, alongside a columbarium and crematorium added in 1894.

    The Sacré-Cœur is a Roman Catholic basilica on the hill of Montmartre, built between 1875 and 1914 in a Romano-Byzantine style from travertine stone that whitens with rain. Its dome can be climbed for views over Paris, and the interior holds a large mosaic of Christ above the choir.

    A museum in a group of 17th-century houses on Montmartre, including the Maison du Bel Air, where the actor Rosimond lived from 1680. Renoir painted here in 1876, and Suzanne Valadon and her son Maurice Utrillo later lived and worked on the site. Opened in 1960, it shows paintings, photographs and posters on the district's history, in a garden replanted after Renoir's paintings.

    The Champs-Élysées is an avenue running about 1.9 kilometres between Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe, lined with plane trees, shops, cinemas and cafés. Laid out as a garden promenade in the 17th century, it took its present form through 19th-century redevelopment.

It opened as a museum in 1913 and keeps its original furnished rooms.
