The Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen occupies the former harbour railway station in the town where the first Zeppelin airships were built. Reopened here in 1996, it holds the world's largest airship-travel collection, centred on a full-scale reconstruction of the LZ 129 Hindenburg's interior, alongside art once branded 'degenerate' by the Nazis.

The Dornier Museum stands beside Friedrichshafen airport, telling the story of aircraft designer Claude Dornier and the company he founded. Exhibits include original and licensed Dornier aircraft such as the Do 27 and Do 31, historic engines, and aerospace hardware later built as part of Airbus, including satellites. Several planes stand outdoors under the curved roof.
