The Musée de la Vie Romantique occupies an 1830s townhouse in the 9th arrondissement that was once the Paris home of painter Ary Scheffer. It opened as a museum in 1982, with rooms on the first floor devoted to writer George Sand and, on the second, Romantic-era paintings, sculpture and furniture.

A glass-roofed exhibition hall in Paris's 8th arrondissement, built for the 1900 Universal Exposition on the site of the former Palace of Industry. Its Beaux-Arts stone facades and iron-and-glass vaults, renovated and reopened in 2025, now host temporary art exhibitions and events.

Dalí Paris, formerly Espace Dalí, is a museum near Place du Tertre in Montmartre devoted to Salvador Dalí. Opened in 1991, it displays around 300 sculptures, engravings and lithographs based on Dalí's surrealist work, curated from the Dalí Universe collection.

A museum in a group of 17th-century houses on Montmartre, including the Maison du Bel Air, where the actor Rosimond lived from 1680. Renoir painted here in 1876, and Suzanne Valadon and her son Maurice Utrillo later lived and worked on the site. Opened in 1960, it shows paintings, photographs and posters on the district's history, in a garden replanted after Renoir's paintings.

The Musée Jacquemart-André occupies a mansion built in 1869-1875 for banker Édouard André, on Boulevard Haussmann. He and his wife, painter Nélie Jacquemart, filled it with Italian Renaissance and 18th-century French art, which she bequeathed to the Institut de France. It opened as a museum in 1913 and keeps its original furnished rooms.

Musée Cernuschi is an Asian art museum on Avenue Vélasquez, near Parc Monceau, founded in 1898 by banker and collector Henri Cernuschi in his former mansion. Its roughly 15,000-object collection, mostly Chinese and Japanese, includes an 18th-century bronze Buddha from Meguro and archaic Chinese bronzes.

The Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac is an anthropology museum near the Eiffel Tower, designed by architect Jean Nouvel and opened in 2006. Its collection covers the art and material culture of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, displayed along a curving ramp and in a garden-side building. A planted wall covers part of its street-facing facade.

The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris occupies the east wing of the Palais de Tokyo, built for the 1937 International Exhibition. Opened in 1961 and reopened in 2019 after renovation, it holds around 15,000 works of 20th- and 21st-century art, including paintings by Picasso, Matisse, Braque and Léger.

The Palais de Tokyo is a building on Avenue du Président Wilson built for the 1937 International Exhibition. Its western wing has hosted a contemporary art centre since 2002, staging temporary exhibitions across large industrial-style galleries. The eastern wing houses the city's Museum of Modern Art.

The Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine is an architecture museum in the Palais de Chaillot. Founded in 1879 by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc and reopened in its present form in 2007, it displays full-scale plaster casts of French monumental sculpture, including cathedral portals, alongside models of French buildings since 1850.

France's national maritime museum, established in 1827 and housed since 1937 in the Palais de Chaillot, overlooking the Seine. Its collection, dating back to a 1748 gift of ship models to Louis XV, covers naval history, model ships, weapons and maritime art. The museum reopened in 2023 after a renovation.

Musée Marmottan Monet is an art museum on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, in a former hunting lodge bought by Jules Marmottan in 1882 and bequeathed with his son Paul's collection to the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1932. It opened in 1934 and holds over 300 Impressionist works, mainly Monet, after a 1966 donation by his son Michel.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is an art museum and cultural centre funded by the LVMH group, in a glass-sailed building designed by Frank Gehry.
