Helligåndskirken
kirke · HeidelbergThe largest church in Heidelberg, built between 1398 and 1515 in the Romanesque and Gothic styles on the market square of the old town. Planned as the burial place of the Electors Palatine and the original home of the Bibliotheca Palatina, it was divided by an internal wall for three centuries so Catholic and Protestant congregations could worship side by side.
