Rhondda Heritage Park
museum · PorthRhondda Heritage Park occupies the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery in Trehafod, near Porth in the Rhondda valley, where coal was mined until 1983. Former miners guide visitors on an underground tour that ends with a simulated ride in a coal dram. The colliery's two headframes and its buildings are listed, and the Black Gold gallery tells the story of the South Wales coalfield.
