
Loro Parque
Zoo · Puerto de la CruzLoro Parque is a zoo of about 13.5 hectares on the western edge of Puerto de la Cruz, opened in 1972 by Wolfgang Kiessling as a parrot park with 150 birds. It now keeps some 4,000 parrots of around 350 species and subspecies, along with gorillas, chimpanzees, big cats, sea lions, penguins, dolphins and orcas. Its entrance is a group of Thai-style pavilions.
