The Western Approaches Museum occupies the Second World War bunker beneath the Exchange Flags offices, from which Western Approaches Command directed the Atlantic convoys and the fight against U-boats. Visitors see the restored operations room, the cypher room and a 1940s street scene. It opened in 1993 and has been run by Big Heritage since 2017.

Historisches Gebäude · Liverpool The Royal Liver Building at the Pier Head was completed in 1911 as the head office of Royal Liver Assurance, designed by Walter Aubrey Thomas and one of the early buildings with a reinforced concrete frame. A copper Liver bird stands on each of its two clock towers. Since 2019 guided tours take visitors up the west clock tower.

The Cavern Club is a cellar music venue on Mathew Street in Liverpool, opened as a jazz club in 1957, where the Beatles played 292 times between 1961 and 1963. The original cellar was filled in during railway works in 1973; the club reopened in 1984 in a reconstruction built partly with bricks from the old site, and has live music every day.

The British Music Experience is a museum of British popular music in the Cunard Building on Liverpool's Pier Head. It began in 2009 as an exhibition at The O2 in London and moved to Liverpool after that venue closed in 2014. Instruments, stage outfits and memorabilia trace the story from 1945 onwards, alongside interactive displays.

The Museum of Liverpool tells the history of the city and its people in a purpose-built building on Mann Island at the Pier Head, designed by the Danish practice 3XN and opened in 2011. Its galleries cover the port, migration, sport and music, and among more than 6,000 objects they show the 1838 steam locomotive Lion.

World Museum is Liverpool's museum of archaeology, world cultures and natural science, begun in 1851 with the Earl of Derby's natural history collection and housed on William Brown Street since 1860. It holds about 15,000 objects from ancient Egypt and Sudan and has a Bug House with live insects and a planetarium opened in 1970.

The Royal Albert Dock is a group of five dock warehouses around a water basin on Liverpool's waterfront, designed by Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick and opened in 1846. Built of cast iron, brick and stone with no structural timber, the Grade I listed buildings now hold museums, galleries, shops and restaurants.

Historisches Gebäude · Liverpool St George's Hall is a Neoclassical building opposite Lime Street station, designed by Harvey Lonsdale Elmes and opened in 1854 to hold concert halls and law courts under one roof. Guided tours on set dates show the Great Hall with its Willis organ, the Concert Room, the courtrooms and the cells below; a visitor centre is open in the building.

The Walker Art Gallery is Liverpool's main public art gallery, a neoclassical building on William Brown Street opened in 1877 and named after the brewer and mayor Sir Andrew Barclay Walker. Its collection runs from early Italian and Netherlandish paintings to Rembrandt and Degas, with a large group of Pre-Raphaelite works and 20th-century British art.

The Beatles Story is a museum about the Beatles in the Britannia Vaults of the Royal Albert Dock, opened in 1990. Its walk-through displays recreate places from the band's career, among them the Casbah Coffee Club, the Cavern Club and Abbey Road Studios, and show items such as John Lennon's glasses and George Harrison's first guitar.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is Liverpool's Roman Catholic cathedral, built from 1962 to 1967 to a design by Frederick Gibberd. Its circular concrete building is crowned by a lantern tower of coloured glass above the central altar. Beneath it lies the crypt of a far larger cathedral designed by Edwin Lutyens in the 1930s and never completed.

Liverpool Cathedral is the Church of England cathedral of the Diocese of Liverpool, built between 1904 and 1978 to a design by Giles Gilbert Scott. With the Lady Chapel the red sandstone building is 189 metres long, and its central tower rises 101 metres; visitors can go up the tower. It stands at the southern end of Hope Street.

Hill Dickinson Stadium is the home ground of Everton Football Club, built on the filled-in Bramley-Moore Dock on Liverpool's northern waterfront and opened in 2025 to replace Goodison Park. Designed by Dan Meis, the steel-and-glass bowl seats about 52,700 spectators. Guided tours lead visitors through the stands and behind the scenes.

Anfield is a football stadium in the Anfield district of Liverpool and has been the home of Liverpool Football Club since the club was formed in 1892; Everton played here from 1884 to 1891. Expansions of the Main Stand in 2016 and the Anfield Road Stand in 2024 raised its capacity to over 61,000, and guided stadium tours and the club museum are open on non-match days.

Sefton Park is a 95-hectare Victorian park in south Liverpool, designed by the French landscape architect Édouard André with Lewis Hornblower and opened in 1872. Paths wind around a boating lake, the Fairy Glen with its waterfalls and stepping stones, and the glass Palm House of 1896, whose corners carry statues of explorers and botanists.

Strawberry Field in Woolton, south Liverpool, was a Salvation Army children's home from 1936 to 2005. John Lennon played in its grounds as a boy, and the Beatles' 1967 song 'Strawberry Fields Forever' takes its name from it. Since 2019 the site has an exhibition on its history and on Lennon, gardens, a café and the red entrance gates.
