Riomaggiore entdecken

The Via dell'Amore is a footpath of about 900 metres cut into the sea cliff between Riomaggiore and Manarola in the Cinque Terre. Closed after a rockslide in 2012, it reopened in July 2024 after major repair work. The path is walked one way, from the entrance at Riomaggiore towards Manarola, with a ticket.

Cinque Terre National Park, created in 1999, protects the steep Ligurian coast around the five villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare, with their terraced vineyards and dry-stone walls. Footpaths link the villages, among them the coastal Sentiero Azzurro, and the coast is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Technical Naval Museum is the Italian Navy's museum beside the main gate of the La Spezia Arsenal. Its collection descends from the naval museum of the Savoy kingdom, moved here from Genoa after the arsenal opened in 1869, and has filled its present building since 1958. Displays include ship models, figureheads, weapons and naval instruments.
