Cabárceno Natural Park is a 750-hectare wildlife park near Santander, laid out in a former open-pit iron mine among karst rock formations. More than 100 animal species from five continents live in large enclosures in semi-freedom, linked by over 20 km of roads that visitors drive between; a cable car also crosses the park.

Centro Botín is the arts centre of the Fundación Botín on the bay of Santander, beside the Jardines de Pereda. Designed by Renzo Piano with Luis Vidal and opened in June 2017, it consists of two volumes raised on columns, partly over the water and linked by walkways; the western one holds about 2,500 m² of exhibition rooms, the eastern one an education space and a terrace.
