    St. Peter's Church is a Roman Catholic church on West Street in Drogheda, built in 1884 in the French Gothic style to designs by John O'Neill and William Henry Byrne. Its limestone west front has a tall gable and a rose window. Inside is the national shrine of St Oliver Plunkett, which holds the preserved head of the saint.

    The Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre stands on the battlefield at Oldbridge, near Drogheda, where William III defeated James II on 1 July 1690 (Old Style). The exhibition, now in the stable yard beside the 18th-century Oldbridge House, shows original weapons and a model of the battlefield. Walkways lead through the grounds and the walled garden.

    Monasterboice is an early Christian monastic site about 8 km north of Drogheda, in County Louth, said to have been founded by Saint Buite in the late 5th century. In its graveyard stand a round tower, two ruined churches and carved stone high crosses, among them the 10th-century Muiredach's Cross with panels of scenes from the Bible.

    Newgrange is a Neolithic passage tomb near Drogheda, in County Meath, built around 3100 BC on a rise above the River Boyne. Its round mound has a white quartz façade, carved kerbstones and a passage aligned with the winter solstice sunrise. It is part of the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site and is reached only on guided tours from the visitor centre at Donore.

    Knowth is a Neolithic passage tomb complex near Drogheda, in County Meath, built around 3200 BC above the River Boyne: a large mound ringed by 17 smaller tombs, with the largest group of megalithic art in Europe. Part of the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site, it is reached only on guided tours from the visitor centre at Donore, and its chambers are not open.
