The Cloister of Cadouin belongs to the former abbey founded at Cadouin in 1115, which later joined the Cistercian order; the village is now part of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin. Rebuilt from the late 15th century with funds granted by Louis XI, its galleries have Flamboyant Gothic vaults and carved capitals. The Romanesque abbey church, consecrated in 1154, adjoins it.

The Grand Roc Cave opens halfway up the limestone cliff above the Vézère at Les Eyzies, about 100 metres from the Laugerie-Basse rock shelters. Discovered by Jean Maury in 1924 and opened to visitors in 1947, it holds mineral formations rather than prehistoric art: helictites, stalactites, stalagmites and rare hollow triangles of calcite.

Laugerie-Basse is a pair of prehistoric rock shelters under a limestone cliff by the Vézère, near Les Eyzies, lived in by Magdalenian people about 14,000 years ago. Dug from 1863, the site yielded some 600 objects, including the carving known as the Vénus impudique. Visitors walk beneath the overhang, past a reconstructed camp.
