    Old Town Square is the historic central square of Prague's Old Town, framed by the Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn, the Baroque St. Nicholas Church, the Kinský Palace and the Old Town Hall with its astronomical clock. At its centre stands the Jan Hus Memorial, unveiled in 1915, and a Marian Column re-erected in 2020.

    Central Gallery is a private exhibition space on the corner of Old Town Square and Celetná street, in the historic house U Bílého jednorožce. It currently shows three separate exhibitions on Salvador Dalí, Alfons Mucha and Andy Warhol, whose names are painted on the façade; visitors can choose one, two or all three.

    The Old Town Hall on Old Town Square was founded in 1338 as the seat of the Old Town council; its Gothic tower carries the medieval astronomical clock, where the twelve apostles appear on the hour. The visit takes in the tower gallery, the chapel, the state rooms and the Romanesque-Gothic cellars; the east wing burned in May 1945.

  • Église Notre-Dame du Týn

    The Church of Our Lady before Týn is the Gothic parish church on the east side of Prague's Old Town Square, built from the 14th century on the site of an earlier church. Its two towers rise about 80 metres, each crowned by a cluster of small spires. Inside lies the tomb of the astronomer Tycho Brahe.

    The Church of St. Nicholas on Old Town Square is a Baroque church built in 1732–1737 by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer on the site of a 13th-century Gothic church. Its white facade with two towers faces the square; since 1920 it has been the main church of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, and it also hosts concerts.

    The World of Banksy is an unauthorised exhibition of reproductions of the street artist Banksy's works, set in the Church of St Michael the Archangel on Michalská street in Prague's Old Town. It shows more than 140 reproduced pieces and video animations; the church itself is Romanesque in origin, later rebuilt in Baroque style.

The building's neo-Renaissance facade of 1896–1897 is painted with figures after designs by Mikoláš Aleš; inside, three floors and a basement hold bars, a shop and music memorabilia.

Its tour of the former Jewish Town covers the Maisel, Pinkas, Klausen and Spanish synagogues, the Ceremonial Hall and the Old Jewish Cemetery, with exhibitions on Jewish history and the Shoah.

    The Spanish Synagogue on Dušní Street was built in 1868 for Prague's Reform congregation on the site of the Old Shul, to plans by Vojtěch Ignác Ullmann and Josef Niklas. Its Moorish Revival interior of gilded stucco and stained glass dates from 1882–83; today it shows Jewish Museum exhibitions and is on the Jewish Museum ticket.

    The Old New Synagogue in Josefov, completed around 1270, is the oldest synagogue in Europe still in use and the main synagogue of Prague's Jewish community. Built by masons from the royal workshop, it has an early Gothic twin-nave hall and a tall brick gable. Legend places the remains of Rabbi Loew's Golem in its attic.

    The Clementinum is a former Jesuit college near Charles Bridge, founded in 1556 and largely rebuilt between 1709 and 1726; it now houses the National Library of the Czech Republic. Guided tours lead through the Baroque Library Hall and the Meridian Hall to the top of the Astronomical Tower, and concerts are held in its Mirror Chapel.

    The Pilsner Urquell Experience is an exhibition on the history and brewing of Pilsner Urquell, the pale lager first brewed in Plzeň in 1842. It fills three floors of a heritage-protected Art Nouveau bank building of 1902 at the lower end of Wenceslas Square, with audiovisual installations, an audio-guided tour, a tasting and a pub.

    The Powder Tower is a Late Gothic gate tower completed in 1475 between the Old Town and the New Town, where coronation processions set out on the Royal Route to Prague Castle. It is named after its later use as a gunpowder store; statues of Bohemian kings and saints decorate its facades, and a gallery at 44 metres looks over the city.

    Municipal House is an Art Nouveau civic building on Náměstí Republiky beside the Powder Tower, designed by Osvald Polívka and Antonín Balšánek and opened in 1912. Czechoslovak independence was declared here in 1918. Guided tours lead through Smetana Hall, a concert hall under a glass dome, and salons decorated by Alfons Mucha and other Czech artists.

    The Mucha Museum opened in 1998 in the Baroque Kaunitz Palace on Panská street in Prague's New Town and is devoted to the Art Nouveau painter and designer Alfons Mucha. It shows nearly 100 original works from the collection of the tennis player Ivan Lendl, including posters, decorative panels and drawings.

    The Old Town Bridge Tower is the Gothic gate tower at the Old Town end of Charles Bridge, begun under Emperor Charles IV in the 1350s to a design by Peter Parler. Its east facade carries statues of Charles IV, Wenceslas IV and St. Vitus, and 138 steps lead up to a gallery above the bridge and the river.

    Image Black Light Theatre is a private company founded in Prague in 1989 by Alexander Čihař and Eva Asterová, combining black-light theatre with dance, music and pantomime. Since 2016 it has played in its own 319-seat hall in the Metro Palace at Národní 25; its shows are non-verbal and run for about 80 minutes without a break.

    Wenceslas Square is a boulevard-like square about 750 metres long in Prague's New Town, laid out as a horse market under Charles IV in 1348. The National Museum closes its upper end, in front of Josef Václav Myslbek's equestrian statue of Saint Wenceslas. Large demonstrations were held here during the Velvet Revolution of 1989.
