Fontana delle Tette
monument · TréviseThe Fontana delle Tette is a fountain in Treviso made in 1559 for the Venetian podestà Alvise Da Ponte after a drought. It shows a woman pressing water from her breasts; under Venetian rule it poured red and white wine at civic celebrations. A 1989 copy stands in a courtyard off Calmaggiore, and the original is kept under the Palazzo dei Trecento loggia.
