The Church of San Giorgio stands on a headland above Portofino, reached by a path from the harbour square. First recorded in 1154 and rebuilt in 1691 and 1760, it was destroyed by a bomb in the Second World War and rebuilt in 1950 on its 18th-century plan. It keeps relics of Saint George, the village's patron saint.

Castello Brown is a fortress above the harbour of Portofino, built by the Republic of Genoa on a site fortified since Roman times and enlarged in the 16th century. In 1867 the British consul Montague Yeats Brown bought it and made it a villa; the municipality has owned it since 1961. Visitors see its rooms, garden and terraces over the bay.
