historisk bygning · Cambridge St John's College is a college of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1511 under the will of Lady Margaret Beaufort. Its eleven courts stretch across both banks of the River Cam, linked by the covered Bridge of Sighs of 1831, and its chapel was designed by George Gilbert Scott.

historisk bygning · Cambridge Trinity College is a college of the University of Cambridge, founded by King Henry VIII in 1546. Its Great Court is said to be the largest enclosed courtyard in Europe, and its members have included Isaac Newton, Lord Byron and Ludwig Wittgenstein. Visitors see the courts on guided tours led by the porters, and the Wren Library opens to the public at set times.

King's College Chapel is the chapel of King's College, Cambridge, begun under King Henry VI in the 1440s and completed in 1515 under Henry VIII in the Perpendicular Gothic style. It has the largest fan vault in the world and large stained-glass windows completed by 1531. The chapel is still used for worship and is home to the King's College Choir.

Kettle's Yard is the former home of the curator Jim Ede and his wife Helen, who from 1956 turned four cottages on Castle Street into a house for their collection of early 20th-century art. Ede gave it to the University of Cambridge in 1966. The house is kept as they left it, next to a gallery for changing exhibitions.

The Mathematical Bridge is a wooden footbridge over the River Cam that links two parts of Queens' College. Designed by William Etheridge and built by James Essex in 1749, it was rebuilt in 1866 and 1905 to the same design: it looks like an arch but is made only of straight timbers. The whole span can be seen from Silver Street Bridge.

The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge on Trumpington Street, founded in 1816 under the will of Richard FitzWilliam, 7th Viscount FitzWilliam. Its classical building by George Basevi opened in 1848, and its collection of over half a million objects ranges from Egyptian antiquities to paintings by Rembrandt, Monet and Picasso.

Cambridge University Botanic Garden covers 16 hectares between Trumpington Road and Hills Road and holds more than 8,000 plant species used for teaching and research. Professor John Stevens Henslow, Charles Darwin's teacher, planned it on land bought in 1831, and it opened in 1846; it has a lake, a rock garden and a range of glasshouses.
