The Palau March is a palace beside Palma Cathedral, built from 1939 to 1945 to plans by Luis Gutiérrez Soto as the Palma home of the financier Joan March. It now houses the museum of the Fundació Bartolomé March: modern and contemporary sculpture in its courtyard, a collection of Mallorcan maps, an 18th-century Neapolitan nativity scene and murals by Josep Maria Sert.

Es Baluard is Palma's museum of modern and contemporary art, opened in 2004 inside the Renaissance bastion of Sant Pere on the old city walls. A concrete building set into the ramparts holds a collection of more than 700 works by Balearic and international artists, and temporary exhibitions. Visitors can also walk the bastion's terraces above the bay and enter its old cistern.
