About Odense
Odense is the main city on the island of Funen and the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, whose life is the subject of its main museum. Beyond the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, the city has Kunstmuseum Brandts, the Danish Railway Museum, Odense Zoo and The Funen Village, an open-air museum of old rural buildings. A day covers the centre, and a second day leaves time for the zoo and the village. A light rail line and city buses reach the outer sights. Odense is on the main railway line between Copenhagen and Jutland and works as a stop on a longer trip.
