About Copenhagen
Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark, a harbour city known for Tivoli Gardens, Nyhavn, royal palaces and its many museums. The compact centre holds Christiansborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle and Amalienborg, while The Little Mermaid sits on the waterfront near Kastellet. Most visitors spend two or three days here. The centre is easy to cover on foot or by bike, and the metro, buses and harbour buses reach the outer districts and the airport. The Copenhagen Card bundles public transport with entry to many of the sights listed here. Helsingør and Kronborg Castle are under an hour away by train, which makes them an easy addition to a longer stay.
