St. Severin
church · SyltSt. Severin is a Lutheran parish church in the Sylt village of Keitum, built in the Romanesque style and first recorded in 1240. Tree-ring tests dated its roof timbers to 1216, making it the oldest religious building in Schleswig-Holstein. Its squat 15th-century tower once doubled as a navigation mark for sailors and, later, a prison.
