Vapriikki is a museum centre in former Tampella factory buildings on the Tammerkoski rapids, opened in 1996; its name comes from the Swedish word fabrik, factory. It holds more than ten exhibitions under one ticket, among them the Natural History Museum of Tampere, the Finnish Museum of Games, the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame and the Postal Museum.

The Amuri Museum of Historic Housing keeps a block of wooden workers' houses in Tampere's Amuri district, built from the 1860s onwards, in its original place. Five dwelling houses and four courtyard buildings hold furnished homes dated from 1882 to 1973, together with a public sauna, a bakery, a cobbler's workshop and small shops. The museum opened in 1975.

The Moomin Museum in Tampere Hall shows original drawings by Tove Jansson, the creator of the Moomins, alongside three-dimensional tableaux of the stories and a five-storey Moomin House, 2.5 metres high, built by Jansson, Tuulikki Pietilä and Pentti Eistola in the late 1970s. The collection went on display in 1987 and moved to Tampere Hall in 2017.
