Pont des Trous
bridge · TournaiThe Pont des Trous is a fortified water gate across the Scheldt in Tournai, part of the town's 13th-century walls: the Bourdiel tower on the left bank dates from 1281 and the Thieulerie tower on the right bank from 1302–1304. Its arches, blown up in 1940 and rebuilt higher in 1948, were taken down and rebuilt wider for shipping between 2019 and 2023.
