    The Old Royal Naval College is a group of riverside buildings in Greenwich, designed by Christopher Wren and built from 1696 to 1712 as the Royal Hospital for Seamen. From 1873 to 1998 it housed the Royal Naval College. Visitors see the Painted Hall, decorated by James Thornhill, the chapel and the grounds of Maritime Greenwich.

  • National Maritime Museum

    The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich covers Britain's history at sea. Opened by King George VI in 1937 in the former Royal Hospital School buildings on the edge of Greenwich Park, it holds more than two million items, including maritime paintings, maps, ship models, navigational instruments and objects linked to Nelson and Captain Cook.

  • Up at The O2

    Up at The O2

    Up at The O2 is a guided climb over the roof of The O2, the former Millennium Dome on the Greenwich Peninsula. Wearing harnesses clipped to a safety line, climbers follow a walkway up the dome to a summit platform 52 metres above the ground and back down again, in a climb of about 90 minutes with views across London.

  • Royal Observatory Greenwich

    The Royal Observatory stands on a hill in Greenwich Park; King Charles II commissioned it in 1675, and Flamsteed House, its first building, was completed in 1676 to a design by Christopher Wren. The Prime Meridian passes through the site, which gave its name to Greenwich Mean Time. It is now a museum of astronomy and timekeeping with a planetarium.

    Greenwich Park is a former royal hunting park in south-east London and, enclosed in 1433, the first of the city's Royal Parks to be walled in. Its 74 hectares rise to the Royal Observatory on the Prime Meridian, and the hilltop looks over the Queen's House and the Old Royal Naval College to the Thames and Canary Wharf.

  • London Cable Car

    The London Cable Car is a gondola lift that crosses the Thames between the Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Victoria Dock, west of ExCeL London. Built by Doppelmayr and opened in June 2012, it is owned by Transport for London. Its cabins travel about one kilometre and rise to 90 metres above the river, with views over Docklands and Greenwich.

  • Alexandra Palace

    Alexandra Palace is a Victorian entertainment venue on a hill in Alexandra Park, north London, designed by John Johnson and Alfred Meeson. It opened in 1873, burned down two weeks later and was rebuilt in 1875. In 1936 the BBC began its regular television service here, and the transmitter mast is still in use.

Stadium tours go behind the scenes, and The Dare Skywalk leads onto the roof.
