Co-Cathedral of Santa María
The Co-Cathedral of Santa María is Vigo's main church, known locally as A Colexiata, and shares the seat of the Diocese of Tui-Vigo with Tui Cathedral. The earlier Gothic church on the site was burned by Francis Drake in 1585 and badly damaged by an explosion in 1809. The present Neoclassical building by Melchor de Prado was built from 1816 to 1838.
