The Monument to the Battle of the Nations commemorates the 1813 defeat of Napoleon's army by the Russian, Prussian, Austrian and Swedish coalition at Leipzig. Completed in 1913 for the battle's centenary, the 91-metre monument has over 500 steps to a viewing platform and houses the Forum 1813 museum at its base.

Vigeland Park is Gustav Vigeland's sculpture installation inside Frogner Park, set up mainly between 1940 and 1949 as the result of more than 40 years of work. Over 200 sculptures in granite, bronze and wrought iron line an axis from the main gate across the Bridge to the Fountain and up to the Monolith, a granite column of intertwined human figures.

Holmenkollbakken is the ski jump on the Holmenkollen hill above Oslo, where ski jumping competitions have been held since 1892; the present hill by JDS Architects replaced the old one in 2010. The Ski Museum, founded in 1923, lies in the base of the jump and covers the history of skiing, and a lift takes visitors to a viewing platform 64 metres up at the top.

The Old Town Hall stands in the middle of Toruń's Old Town Market Square: a Gothic brick building raised around a courtyard in the 13th and 14th centuries and rebuilt in the 17th and 18th. It is the main seat of the District Museum, with 14th-century stained glass, Polish painting and a portrait of Copernicus; its 40-metre tower has a viewing terrace.

The Leaning Tower of Toruń is a medieval brick tower of the town walls, about 15 metres high, whose top stands roughly 1.5 metres out of line because it was built on soft ground. It later served as a women's prison and as housing. It stands on Pod Krzywą Wieżą Street, between the Old Town and the Vistula.

The Copernicus House is a pair of Gothic merchant houses at 15–17 Kopernika Street, owned by the Copernicus family in the second half of the 15th century and regarded as the astronomer's birthplace in 1473. A branch of the District Museum in Toruń, it shows the life of a burgher family and Copernicus's life and work, with a 3D cinema.

The Living Museum of Gingerbread is a private hands-on museum opened in 2006 in an 1860s granary on Rabiańska Street. In guided shows of about 75 minutes, staff in costume explain how Toruń gingerbread was made; visitors mix the dough, bake it in wooden moulds and decorate it in a reconstructed early 20th-century workshop.

Toruń Cathedral, dedicated to St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist, is a Gothic brick hall church built from the 13th to the late 15th century, with a massive west tower and a large clock face. Inside are medieval wall paintings and the font where Nicolaus Copernicus is said to have been baptised.

Toruń Castle is the ruin of one of the earliest castles of the Teutonic Order in the Chełmno Land, built from the mid-13th century on a horseshoe plan. Townspeople captured and demolished it in 1454 at the start of the Thirteen Years' War. Visitors walk along the outer walls, the stump of the main tower and the Gdanisko latrine tower.

Belantis is a 27-hectare theme park south of Leipzig, opened in 2003 with attractions themed around the legends of various ancient civilizations. It is the largest amusement park in central and eastern Germany, with more than 60 attractions including four roller coasters and water rides.

Tom Tits Experiment is a science centre in Södertälje, housed since 1989 in former industrial buildings of the centrifuge maker Alfa Laval. Over four floors and an outdoor park, visitors try hands-on experiments in physics, mathematics, biology, technology and perception; the name comes from Tom Tit, the pen name behind a French book of home experiments from the 1890s.

Drottningholm Palace stands on the island of Lovön in Lake Mälaren and was built from 1662 to designs by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder for the Dowager Queen Hedvig Eleonora. The royal family lives in the southern wing, while the state rooms, the Baroque garden and the park are open to visitors; the royal domain has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991.

Drottningholm Palace Theatre is the court theatre of Drottningholm Palace, completed in 1766 to designs by Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz for Queen Lovisa Ulrika. Its auditorium, original stage sets and 18th-century stage machinery survive and are still used for a summer opera season; guided tours lead through the auditorium and the rooms of the theatre building.

The Semperoper is the opera house of the Saxon State Opera Dresden and the concert hall of the Staatskapelle Dresden, located on Theaterplatz near the Elbe. Built by architect Gottfried Semper in 1841, rebuilt after an 1869 fire, and completed in 1878, it has hosted premieres of major works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.

The Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister displays around 750 European paintings from the 15th to 18th centuries, including Italian Renaissance, Dutch and Flemish works. Part of the Dresden State Art Collections, the gallery occupies the Semper wing of the Zwinger on the bank of the Elbe.
