Yavapai Museum of Geology
museum · Grand Canyon VillageThe Yavapai Museum of Geology stands on the rim at Yavapai Point, east of Grand Canyon Village. The stone building, designed by Herbert Maier and opened in 1928, was sited by geologists for studying the canyon's rock layers. Large windows frame the view, and exhibits and a relief model explain how the canyon formed; rangers give geology talks.
