About Tokyo
Tokyo is Japan's capital, a city of many centres, from the temples of Asakusa and the museums of Ueno to Shinjuku, Shibuya and Odaiba on the bay. Sensō-ji stands in Asakusa near the Tokyo Skytree, and Ueno Park holds the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art and Ueno Zoo. Meiji Jingu lies in a forest beside Harajuku, a short walk from the Shibuya Crossing. The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace open to visitors, and Tokyo Tower, the Metropolitan Government Building and Roppongi Hills have views over the city. Three or four days cover the main sights, and trains and the metro reach nearly all of them.
