About Osaka
Osaka is Japan's third-largest city, a port and trading centre known for its castle, its food streets and its observation decks. Osaka Castle stands in a park of moats and stone walls, with a museum in the rebuilt keep. Dōtonbori's canal-side street of neon signs and food stalls leads into the Namba district, and Kuromon Market sells fish and street food nearby. Shitennō-ji, one of Japan's oldest temples, and the Tsūtenkaku tower in Shinsekai are in the south, near the Abeno Harukas deck. The Umeda Sky Building has an open-air observatory, and the Kaiyukan aquarium is on the bay. Two days cover the city; the metro reaches all of it.
