About Langkawi

Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea off Malaysia's north-west coast, with rainforest, mangroves and beaches. The SkyCab cable car climbs from the Oriental Village to the top of Gunung Machinchang, where the curved Langkawi Sky Bridge hangs over the forest, and the Telaga Tujuh waterfalls are nearby. Boats from Kilim explore the limestone and mangroves of the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. Kuah, the main town, has Eagle Square on its waterfront, and Pantai Cenang on the west coast has the Underwater World aquarium beside the beach. Two or three days cover the main island; a hired car or taxi is the usual way around.
