About Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, stands on an island off the Gulf coast, with Yas and Saadiyat islands a short drive away. The oldest building is Qasr Al Hosn, a watchtower and fort beside the Cultural Foundation, and the Corniche runs along the city's western shore. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque admits visitors outside prayer times, and the presidential palace Qasr Al Watan is open for tours.
