About Ubud

Ubud is a town in the hills of central Bali, known for its palace, art museums and nearby temples and rice terraces. Ubud Palace and the Ubud Art Market face each other in the centre, near Pura Taman Saraswati, and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary lies at the south end of town. The Agung Rai Museum of Art, the Neka Art Museum and Museum Puri Lukisan show Balinese painting, and the Campuhan Ridge Walk follows a grassy ridge west of the centre. Within half an hour are Goa Gajah, the Tegallalang rice terraces, the water temple of Tirta Empul, Gunung Kawi, Pura Taman Ayun and the Tegenungan Waterfall.
