About Bandung
Bandung is West Java's capital, a cool highland city of Dutch-era Art Deco buildings, with volcanoes and farm parks to the north. Gedung Sate, the governor's seat, and the Geological Museum stand in the north of the centre, and Jalan Asia Afrika has Gedung Merdeka, now the Asian-African Conference Museum, beside the Grand Mosque and Braga Street. Saung Angklung Udjo stages bamboo music in the east of the city, and the Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque stands in a reservoir in Gedebage. North of the city, Lembang has the Bosscha Observatory, the floating market and farm parks, with the Tangkuban Perahu crater beyond, and Kawah Putih lies south at Ciwidey.
