Pyramids, pharaohs' temples and tombs, medieval Cairo and the Red Sea: Vizgu covers Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Alexandria, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Cairo has the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and the mosques and bazaar of the medieval city, and the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum stand on its western edge; Saqqara and Dahshur lie to the south. Luxor holds the temples of Karnak and Luxor, and across the Nile the Valley of the Kings and the temple of Hatshepsut. Aswan has the temple of Philae on its island and the Nubian Museum, and Alexandria the Citadel of Qaitbay, the catacombs and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh are Red Sea resorts. Most visitors fly or take the train south. The country uses the Egyptian pound, and Vizgu shows prices in US dollars.
