About Vancouver
Vancouver is a port city in British Columbia, between the Pacific coast and the North Shore Mountains. Stanley Park covers the peninsula west of downtown, with the seawall, totem poles and the Vancouver Aquarium. Gastown is the oldest part of the city, and Granville Island has a public market under the Granville Street Bridge. Science World stands at the end of False Creek, and the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Bill Reid Gallery show West Coast art. The Museum of Anthropology at UBC holds Northwest Coast collections. Across the harbour in North Vancouver are the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain, reached by gondola.
