The Mob Museum, officially the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, opened in 2012 in the former federal courthouse and post office of 1933 in downtown Las Vegas. Its exhibits trace organised crime and the people who fought it; a 1950 Senate hearing on the mob was held in the building's courtroom. A speakeasy and distillery fill the basement.

The Neon Museum, founded in 1996, keeps retired signs from Las Vegas casinos, motels and shops. Most stand in the outdoor Neon Boneyard, seen on guided or self-guided visits, some relit after dark. The visitor centre is the shell-shaped lobby of the La Concha Motel, designed by Paul Revere Williams in 1961 and moved here from the Strip.
