About Nashville
Nashville is the capital of Tennessee, on the Cumberland River, known for country music, from the Ryman Auditorium to the Grand Ole Opry. Downtown holds the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Johnny Cash Museum and the Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974; the show now plays at the Grand Ole Opry House east of the centre. The Hall of Fame also runs tours of RCA Studio B on Music Row. Centennial Park holds a full-scale replica of the Parthenon. The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home, lies east of the city. Two or three days cover the main sights.
