Fort Adams
Fort Adams is a granite coastal fort at the entrance to Newport Harbor, built between 1824 and 1857 to a plan by the French engineer Simon Bernard. It stands in Fort Adams State Park, where the Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals are held; visitors walk the parade ground and casemates or take guided tours of the tunnels.
