The Oklahoma City National Memorial honours the 168 people killed, the survivors and the rescuers of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on 19 April 1995. On the building's site, the outdoor memorial has a reflecting pool between two gates and a field of empty chairs; the museum beside it documents the attack and its aftermath.

The First Americans Museum, opened in 2021 beside the Oklahoma River, presents the histories and cultures of the 39 tribal nations in Oklahoma today. Its galleries cover their removal to Indian Territory, everyday objects and contemporary life, with a gallery of loans from the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, around a large earthwork mound.
