Forsyth Park is a 12-hectare city park at the southern edge of Savannah's historic district, laid out in the 1840s and 1850s. Its white cast-iron fountain of 1858 stands at the end of an avenue of live oaks hung with Spanish moss. The park also has a Confederate memorial, a fragrant garden, sports fields and a weekly farmers' market.
