Kościuszko Mound is an artificial earth mound raised by the people of Kraków in 1820–1823 in memory of Tadeusz Kościuszko, modelled on the prehistoric mounds of Krak and Wanda. The Austrians later built a brick citadel around it; a spiral path leads to the top, about 326 metres above sea level, with a view over the Vistula and the city.
