Qasr Al Hosn is the oldest stone building in Abu Dhabi. It began in 1761 as a watchtower guarding the island's only freshwater well, grew into a fort that served as the ruling family's residence, and was enlarged in the 1930s. After a decade of conservation it reopened in 2018 as a museum of the city's history, with the House of Artisans nearby.

Jubail Mangrove Park is a protected mangrove reserve on Al Jubail Island, between Saadiyat and Yas islands. A boardwalk winds through the mangroves and tidal channels, where flamingos, western reef herons, crabs and fish can be seen, and the scene changes with the tide; guided tours and other activities are booked separately.
