Trulli of Alberobello

The Trulli of Alberobello are dry-stone houses with conical roofs of grey limestone slabs that fill the Rione Monti and Aia Piccola districts of Alberobello in Apulia. Built without mortar, largely from the 17th century onwards, many are still lived in or house shops, and the ensemble has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
