Alton Towers

Alton Towers is a theme park and resort near the village of Alton in Staffordshire, laid out in the grounds of the former stately home of the Earls of Shrewsbury. It has been developed as a theme park since 1980 and is run by Merlin Entertainments. Rides such as Nemesis Reborn and The Smiler stand near the remains of the Gothic Revival house and its gardens.
