Alaska Aviation Museum

The Alaska Aviation Museum stands on the shore of Lake Hood, the seaplane base beside Anchorage's international airport, about 7 km from downtown. Founded in 1988, it tells how aircraft opened up Alaska, with bush planes, floatplanes and airliners in its hangars, a restoration shop and the history of Alaska's airlines; floatplanes take off on the lake outside.
