Lake Annecy

Lake Annecy is a lake of glacial origin in the Alps of Haute-Savoie, about 14 km long, formed some 18,000 years ago as the large Alpine glaciers melted. Annecy lies at its northern end, where the Thiou drains it, villages line its shores between the Bauges and Bornes mountains, and a cycle path runs along its western side.
