Royal Palace of Aranjuez

The Royal Palace of Aranjuez is a former spring residence of the Spanish kings, begun under Philip II in the 16th century and enlarged in the 18th century around a wide forecourt, the Plaza de Parejas. The visit leads through the furnished royal apartments, and the palace stands beside the Tagus between the Parterre and Isla gardens.
