Benaki Museum

The Benaki Museum was founded in 1930 by Antonis Benakis, in memory of his father Emmanuel, in the family mansion opposite the National Garden in Athens. Its main building presents Greek art and culture from prehistory to modern times; other collections moved to separate branches after the museum reopened in 2000.
