Piha Beach

Piha Beach is a black-sand surf beach at Piha, on the west coast of the Auckland region, about 40 km from the city centre at the edge of the Waitākere Ranges. Lion Rock, the eroded remnant of an ancient volcano, divides it into North and South Piha. Surf lifesavers patrol the beach in summer, and tracks lead into the bush to Kitekite Falls.
