Erawan Shrine

The Erawan Shrine is a Hindu shrine at the Ratchaprasong intersection that houses a gilded statue of Phra Phrom, the Thai form of Brahma. It was built in 1956 for the government-owned Erawan Hotel, on whose site the Grand Hyatt Erawan now stands. Worshippers offer garlands and incense, and some hire dancers to perform beside it.
